Things to do in and around Winters!

There is no lack of activities in and around Winters. World class entertainment can be found just mintues away at the Mondavi Performing Arts Center, Cache Creek Casino and in town at the Palms Playhouse.

Palms Playhouse at Night

The Palms Playhouse

The Palms Playhouse was born in an old South Davis barn in the late 70's as a playhouse for local thespians but soon evolved into a cultural oasis for some of the finest live music heard anywhere. The old barn was rickety and full of dust. The winter winds blew through the wooden slats and the summer heat sizzled. It didn't matter. Palms' fans, listeners and musicians alike, swore those wooden slats were magical sounding boards creating top-notch, one-of-a-kind acoustics.

Fresh Produce

Winters Farmers Market

The market is open every Sunday between May and October from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. The Winters Farmers Market carries on the tradition of great Yolo County Farmers Markets with live music every week performed in a Gazebo in the middle of Rotary Park. Come and enjoy the festivities and an assortment of both farm-fresh produce and prepared foods from a variety of vendors.

Boat on Lake

Lake Berryessa

One of California's largest bodies of fresh water, Lake Berryessa offers year-round recreation opportunities. Berryessa's water reaches temperatures of up to 75 degrees in the summer, making it an ideal place for water sports. Anglers enjoy fishing for both cold and warm water species, such as rainbow trout, bass, catfish, crappie, and bluegill. The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) provides several free recreation locations including two large day use areas (Oak Shores and Smittle Creek); Capell Cove launch ramp; and many smaller dispersed day use areas.
